Sunday, 9 October 2022 - Produced in collaboration with The BLAC Arts Centre and MadebyWe, this event draws on Stan Douglas' use of Grime and Mahraganat by inviting DJs from MadebyWe to create and perform mixes on the themes "Investigating Canadian Blackness" and "Music is The Weapon". There will also be a performance by Vancouver rapper Sad Boy Denzel. Admission is by donation, and includes entry to Stan Douglas: 2011 ≠ 1848 . About Sad Boy Denzel Sad Boy Denzel, born Denzel Marcial Guedes, is a Canadian rapper and YouTuber. Denzel started rapping in 2016 but only started making music in 2017 under multiple aliases. He released his first EP, The 9883 Prelude in 2021 just before releasing his debut album, 9883. Denzel credits his rap style to the late 90s and early 2000s of hip hop music. His inspirations list of Jay-Z, Timbaland, 50 Cent and many more. -
