Wicked

The untold story of the Witches of Oz Wicked The award winning musical ""Wicked"", about two girls who meet in the land of Oz, returns to Vancouver. Continues to June 29.More details Date and time May 28 2014, 8:00 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.Add to my calendar Location Queen Elizabeth Theatre, 630 Hamilton Street at Georgia Vancouver Contact1.866.542.7469 Broadway Across Canada Back by popular demand. Variety calls Wicked ""a cultural phenomenon," and it continues to break box office records and sell out in record time. Winner of over 50 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, Wicked is "Broadway's biggest blockbuster" (The New York Times). Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One — born with emerald green skin — is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for ""the most complete — and completely satisfying — new musical in a long time"" (USA Today).Visually stunning, Wicked boasts a soaring score from Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin), Tony Award-winning sets and costumes, and some of the most gravity-defying moments on stage. Like the classic 1939 movie, younger children may find it too long or be frightened by the show's flying monkeys, allusions to offstage violence and the death of a character. Most children over eight, however, will be delighted by the world of Wicked. The Vancouver Civic Theatres requires that all audience members including children, must have a ticket. There are no exemptions to this policy regardless of the child's age.. Event Details. Location: 630 Hamilton Street
