Flamenco Festival: La Moneta

September 23 2017, 8:00 p.m. Flamenco Festival: La Moneta. The Vancouver International Flamenco Festival is pleased to present dancer/choreographer Fuensanta "La Moneta" from Spain.. Event detailsHailing from Granada, Spain, Fuensanta "La Moneta" possesses a deep expressive dramatic quality and an incredible mastering of compás (the intricate flamenco rhythm). Her innate talent allows her to dance even the most difficult styles, as easily as she breathes the ancient form of art, although her approach seems contemporary, her dancing style seems as ancient as the flamenco that flows through her veins."La Moneta" combines her studies with her work in 'zambras' and 'tablaos' and was tutored by the best teachers in flamenco Javier Latorre, Mario Maya, Juan Andrés Maya, Juana Amaya, Matilde Coral, Isreal Galván among others. Following her performance in the Sala Suristán in Madrid at the age of 16, she was interviewed by Alma 100 and was on the cover, purporting her as the most outstanding flamenco dancer born in the Eighties. Since then, Fuensanta "La Moneta" has danced in many Flamenco Festivals and in theatres of several countries, such as Europe, Asia and America. She joined Javiar Latorre's Company to work in the flamenco ballet play "Traina, en el nombre de la rosa" and "Rinconete y Cortadillo". She also took part in the flamenco show "Homenaje a Fosforito" (Homage to Fosforito) in the Cordoba National Competition and in the movie "Por qué se frotan las patitas" by the director Álvaro Vegines. In 2012, she premiered "La Moneta, paso a paso" at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla... Event Details. Location: 600 Hamilton Street, Vancouver
