Event detailsUzume Taiko, West Coast Canada's premiere professional taiko group is proud to offer powerful Japanese taiko drums, athletic dancing, melodic music and martial arts movement with Moving Dragon Contemporary Dance and Lorita Leung Dance Company in this Canadian cross-cultural collaboration with Chinese sensibilities for Vancouver fans. Uzume drummers create music for Taiko Drums inspired by pop, rock, jazz, classical, folk and world rhythm influences that have won them fans throughout their 20-years playing around the world. This Vancouver-based company has toured with their Canadian-made taiko drums to perform in distant places such as Japan, Mexico, Europe, USA, Scotland's Orkney Islands, United Kingdom's Channel Islands, Yellowknife in Arctic Canada and from Tofino on Vancouver Island to Cape Spear in Newfoundland.
