Redshift and the Ensemble

Redshift and the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal The Four Elements Type: Concert $20.00 / $10.00 Redshift and the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal collaborate on a new musical work The Four Elements, performing together at the Orpheum Annex. More details Date and time May 23 2013, 8:00 p.m. Location Orpheum Annex, 823 Seymour Street near Robson Vancouver Contact Email contact In the wake of 2011's highly successful collaboration between Redshift and the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal, Seven Deadly Sins/Sea to Sea, we were so enthused we got right to planning a second installment. On May 23rd, once more with the same line up of director Véronique Lacroix and cellist Mariève Bock of ECM+, and Vancouver's Tempest Flute Ensemble, we will present The Four Elements. This show will feature four new premieres: two by Vancouver composers Jocelyn Morlock and Edward Top, and works by Montréal composers Emily Hall and Éric Champagne (whose piece will include an additional fourteen flutists). The Four Elements continues an enthusiastic artistic discourse between two major Canadian artistic capitals, and is a rare occasion for Vancouver audiences and musicians alike to experience the artistry of Lacroix — one of the country's most respected interpreters of new music.  .
