They explore musical roots and branchings to create new musical adventures that combine to create a New World Music. The Big World Band paints the multicoloured music of French composer Erik Satie, reveals the Byzantine hallucinations of BC composer Scott Godin, along with solos by sitarist Mohamed Assani, Iranian oud player Hossein Behroozinia and Chinese ruan player Zhimin Yu, as well as the cultural mixologies of Vancouver composers Farshid Samandari and John Oliver.
